Osborn
Model Kits started out as many modelers do,
scratch building models. After going to many model shows and
having people comment on how beautiful the models were, the
idea of recreating the same model so someone else could enjoy
it came to mind.
The history of specific boats was also a big
factor, as a lot of very important boats have made their statement
in history and have been forgotten about. Osborn Models Kits
is taking some of this forgotten history and bringing it back
to life as model kits. People often see one of our kits and
it will remind them of a time when their grandfather or father
had a boat just like it, or seeing Miss Supertest racing in
Picton. This is where we get the phrase “helping relive
classic boating memories”.
In 1999, Osborn Model Kits started manufacturing the Mirror
Dinghy. We progressed on to the Utility Runabout in 2002, then
the Miss Canada III in 2003. The year 2004 saw the release of
four kits: the 1/12 and 1/24 Miss Supertest III, the 1/24 Miss
Canada III, and the Gentlemen’s Racer. In late 2005 we released the Miss Canadiana. 2006 saw the release of the Canadian One Design in two scales, 1/8 and 1/16 both as radio controlled models. 2006 also saw the huge release of our model railroad product line.
Osborn Model Kits firmly believes in customer service. We want
you to have a pleasurable experience building a piece of history.
